Social Service
Indian Council of Social Welfare – Punjab Branch
The Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) is a national-level non-profit, non-governmental voluntary welfare organisation headquartered in Mumbai. Working in the field of social welfare since its inception in 1947, ICSW was instrumental in promoting the establishment of Ministries of Social Welfare at both the Central and State government levels.
With branches in about 20 states across India, the Punjab Branch was established in 1973. We work for the empowerment and upliftment of women and children across the state — through skill training, counselling, awareness camps and welfare programmes.
ICSW Punjab is also associated with International Social Service (ISS), coming to the aid of Indians abroad by providing social reports, processing welfare cases, and making home visits that extend beyond national boundaries.
Making a Difference, One Life at a Time
From beauty & skin care training to gender sensitisation workshops, our programmes are designed to create lasting change in the communities we serve.
A 6-month SOSVA-aided course for 25 girls from BPL backgrounds per batch. Participants receive certificates and starter kit hampers on completion. Running since 2022 at both Mohali and Hoshiarpur centres.
Six-month stitching and dress-designing courses for women from BPL families in Mohali and Faridkot. Each woman is gifted a free sewing machine upon completing the programme.
ICSW Punjab distributes free sewing machines to women who complete our tailoring courses, enabling them to set up their own micro-enterprises and become financially independent.
